  1. I saw the duo last year at George Mason. It was a lovely seasonal concert with light and heatfelt appropriate fare. The sound was actually very good in the upper back balcony and I told Jubilant so after the concert. Chris’ tone, his trademark really, was magnificient on what appeared to be a Ramirez.
It would have been a nice flourish for the large spralling stage to have had a few Christmas decorative plants to frame the duo. Visually it would have enhanced the Christmas concert and after all Washington has such great theater when it comes to Christmas season concerts like the Candelight event at Dumbarton and the various Handel singalongs. A little glitter in that way would have warmed the event.

  2. This was the first time I had seen Christopher Parkening. I thought the holiday repertoire was very appropriate and well executed. It was very enjoyable. I could not help thinking how much good sound Christopher produced with a seemingly stiff right hand.
